Responsibilities
As our Research Associate, you will assist with the execution of basic science and clinical scientific projects
related to Plastic Surgery.
Your clinical duties include assistance with subject screening, chart review, recruitment and follow-up,
administration of psychosocial and neuropsychological evaluations, writing and organization of institutional review board protocols and animal protocols, interacting with federal agencies for translational research and regularly updating computer databases.
You will also assist with regulatory document submission and be responsible for ensuring all research activities follow applicable study protocols as well as the strict rules, regulations and policies mandated by the FDA, Institutional IRB, ARC, study sponsor or any other applicable regulatory agency.
Additionally, you will recruit, train and direct individuals interested in volunteering as research assistants in support of the research goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in biology, psychology, or similar fields preferred
Basic knowledge in conducting laboratory experimentation
Ability to work with animal and human samples (willingness, safety techniques).
Ability to recognize and use technical terminology related to plastic and reconstructive surgery.
Demonstrated experience with plastic and reconstructive surgery research
Detailed knowledge of all safety related clinical and laboratory procedures as set forth in federal,
state and University guidelines.
Experience in data collection, quantitative data entry/mining/analysis, managing data spreadsheets
and clinical studies.
General knowledge of research protocols and guidelines.
Ability to work effectively with persons of various economic and educational backgrounds.
Ability to train others.
Strong English oral and written communication skills to convey detailed research information
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, SPSS, and other database management and analysis software
Working knowledge of Filemaker Pro
