Research Assistant, Immunogenetics Center

Responsibilities
The Department of Pathology & Lab Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant to join their Immunogenetics Laboratory.

Primary duties include:
Draw blood from study participants
Maintain human tissue cultures and process whole blood
Assist with preparation of samples; perform microscopy, flow cytometry, Western Blot, and assays
Maintain lab supplies and inventory
Ensure that lab is clean and organized, and that all equipment is in working order
Perform data entry, sample archival and maintain records and files
Assist with providing technical support to new staff, including post-doctoral fellows and students

Qualifications
Current and valid California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Certificate
Knowledge in handling, storing and shipping of human tissues and fluids
A solid understanding of cell biology and techniques
Ability to maintain human tissue culture
Ability to teach and assess progress of students learning new lab skills
Skill in maintaining data and records
