Responsibilities
We are seeking to hire a Research Assistant (Staff Research Associate 2) to provide support to our research projects.
Projects include the elucidation of chemotherapy-induced cardiomyopathy in animal models from zebrafish to rodents, and the development of optical mapping for electrical and mechanical coupling in myocardial injury and regeneration.
Primary duties include:
Facilitate activities for NIH funded programs, such as recruitment and selection, data collection, grant stipulations, and progress reports
Work with lab animals, including breeding of fish embryos and attending to rodent hearts
Maintain instrumentation
Assist with manuscript preparation and presentation for scientific conferences
Coordinate and organize regular meetings between grant-funded mentors and trainees, selection committees, and other university members
Organize and execute educational and outreach components of grant-funded projects
Qualifications
Experience working with a diverse research population
Experience with organizing outreach and educational planning
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis in Word and Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Superb communication skills
Not required, but a plus if you have the following:
Previous clinical or health services research experience
Experience coordinating research projects
