Our Therapeutics team in South San Francisco leverages this data to discover and develop new treatments that can offer significant benefits for patients with serious, unmet medical needs.

This dedicated research and drug development group identifies novel targets using 23andMe’s genetic database and performs preclinical research to advance programs towards clinical development.

We currently have programs across several therapeutic areas, including but not limited to oncology, respiratory, and cardiovascular diseases.

We are seeking a summer intern to join the Therapeutics department to advance our efforts across multiple disease areas.

Successful candidates will have experience in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields.

Candidates with experience in computational biology are preferred.

What You’ll Do Work with colleagues in Statistical Genetics and Computational biology to perform analyses of 23andMe’s genetic database in selected areas of biology Identify and access public transcriptomic, epigenomic, and proteomic datasets for integrated analyses of candidate genes Present and discuss results of an experiment in team meetings and research presentations Keep accurate and complete laboratory documentation and electronic files What You’ll Bring Completion of graduate-level coursework in genetics Strong organizational and communication skills with an ability to work both independently and in a team environment Self-motivated and driven to learn Must be enrolled in an academic program pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D.
