Industrial Engineer/Logistics

Your Role:

As the position, you’ll be working with some of the industry’s brightest minds to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the warehouse management system and MES control system in order to recognize system constraints and assist in developing solutions as well as support ergonomic analysis of the human operator for hand and body postures for stressors that could result in injuries to our production teams.

Basically, you’ll be an expert in all of the warehouse processes, with specific knowledge of best practices and physical constraints.

Responsibilities:

  • Define/develop material flow and inventory level strategies across the assembly shops
  • Design warehousing and receiving layouts based on supplier delivery schedules and production rates
  • Develop delivery routings and forecasts headcount requirements for material delivery
  • Reduce travel and cycle times to ensure accuracy and on time delivery of materials
  • Define/develop bin size standards to be used on the production floor
  • Work with supply chain on returnable dunnage requirements
  • Determine kitting strategies for assembly to reduce cycle times on the line
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology to support manufacturing systems
  • Process development and analysis with the manufacturing engineering team to ensure proper cycle times
  • Perform root cause analysis on cost and productivity data that significantly differs from projections
  • Support all necessary PFMEA’s and required control plans based on known DFMEA and Process definitions
  • Ensure assembly processes support the production operator for ergonomics, efficiency, and quality
  • Focus on lean systems and methods for manufacturing – value added operations, minimize waste, short production systems, small lot material strategies, focus on the operator & safety
  • Support timing schedules to support on time production launch
  • Ensure all timing milestones are met and are being tracked in relation to the program master schedule

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical with a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience
  • New Program Development Experience
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • AutoCad for flow and layout analysis
  • Exceptional organizational ability with good follow-up skills and attention to details are a must
  • Ability to work independently without constant supervision, and good decision making and problem-solving skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $145,000.00 – $165,000.00 per year
