We are looking for an experienced leader (Associate Director/Director) for our Operations & Logistics team. The Head of Operations & Logistics is responsible for ensuring customer expectations around shipping, delivery and product integrity are met when she orders from Company. You will establish our fulfillment strategy and optimize inbound freight, warehousing and small parcel shipping against cost and efficiency goals.
You are an excellent communicator and are extremely proactive. You have deep expertise in operations and logistics, and are enthusiastic to learn about opportunities to innovate and disrupt the industry. You have a bias toward action who loves to solve problems. You aren ‘t afraid of diving into the weeds when necessary, and your analytical mind informs how you make and present strategic decisions. Team Leadership
- Inspire, coach, direct and manage teams executing on the below responsibilities
- Use goals and metrics to measure individual and team performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure Operations & Logistics supports overall company strategy
3PL and Warehouse Leadership
- Develop optimal strategy to manage Company ‘s warehousing and fulfillment center needs
- Represent Company with 3PL management and team
- Manage 3PL/warehouse performance against defined KPIs and metrics
- Identify and execute ideas to drive efficiencies and cost savings in the warehouse environment
- Continuously model and optimize warehousing and fulfillment needs against evolving business priorities
- Stay current with advancement and technology in warehousing and fulfillment
- Regular (approximately monthly) on-site engagement with 3PL teams in Fontana, CA and Plainfield, IN
Logistics Management
- Develop strategies to optimize Company ‘s inbound, outbound and reverse logistics
- Identify ways to mitigate against shipping volatility and costs
- Represent Company with shipping and freight partner management and team
- Drive optimization of delivery time and cost across all shipping partners
- Stay current with advancement and technology in logistics
Clearance and Donations
- Build and nurture partnerships to help dispose of clearance/returned/damaged goods while supporting Company ‘s donations and sustainability goals
Collateral Sourcing
- Ensure warehouses are supplied with sufficient collateral to support fulfillment
- Ongoing optimization and negotiation of collateral costs
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years experience in Operations, Logistics, Warehousing, Freight for e-commerce businesses
- 4-year college degree
- Strong financial acumen to manage overall costs and understand the dynamics of 3PL cost model/CPU variance analysis
- Strong experience managing overall forecast, budget, and cost of both Fulfillment and Shipping
- Experience in managing 3PL relationships or direct warehouse operations
- Experience with managing overseas freight and domestic shipping and logistics
- High proficiency in financial modeling
- Expert in Microsoft Excel. Proficient with GSuite applications, including Sheets, Slides, Docs
- Excellent written and verbal communicator. Ability to distill and articulate complex information in a clear way that can drive business decisions
- Creative, flexible thinker who can respond nimbly to ever-changing situations
- Collaborative and energetic individual with a positive attitude and hands-on mentality
- Pragmatic, curious, data-driven, and results-oriented
- Able to influence internal and external partners with a positive attitude
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience directly managing a 3PL warehousing partner
- Experience negotiating large contracts for warehousing and/or freight
- Experience leading and mentoring a team
