Build strong relationships with the product teams, research institutions and academic labs and deeply understand & partner with them.
Lead the vision and mission for the Applied research group and for all of Twitter to advance the state of ML at Twitter and unlock business impact.
Attract and retain the best research talent to make the Applied research group successful in its established mission.
Qualifications Who You are: You have experience with leading applied research orgs with a responsibility for making business impact and driving innovation.
You have a strong research background,and have deep expertise in one or more fundamental ML areas: NLP, Computer Vision, Graph learning, RecSys.
You have a passion for taking a customer-driven approach to doing high-quality research.
You take pride in driving business impact.
You are skilled at coaching and guiding your directs through their career development.
You’re capable of communicating & collaborating with our business, product, engineering, design and research colleagues to discover new opportunities that benefit Twitter.
Requirements: PhD in Computer Science with a focus on machine learning.
Strong background & experience in applied research.
Ability to work collaboratively across a large engineering organization, both in terms of scale & in terms of mission complexity.
