Position Title: Logistics AnalystLocation: Santa Fe Springs, CAHow will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?The Logistics Analyst is responsible for leveraging the company’s investment in distribution technologies to optimize the region’s Cost to Serve performance.
The Logistics Analyst will be a subject matter expert in the use of these technologies which include on-board computing (OBC), route optimization software, and network analysis tools.
The Logistics Analyst will use the Information gathered from these technologies to identify underperforming areas.
The Analyst will make recommendations for improvement and in many cases lead the efforts to implement the changes recommended.In particular, you will:Drive a safety conscious environment while fostering growth in the safety culture of the company, within the facilityEnsures safety rules are strictly observed & safety training is regularly scheduled, conducted & documented, correct unsafe practices or conditions without delay, promote safety awareness.Applies information collected from OBC technologies to improve safety and distribution effectiveness (i.E.reduce dollars per mile, increase cylinders delivered per mile) including training field personnel to ensure they are making the most of the technologies.Trains as a subject matter expert in the use of the new TRIPS route optimization tool.
This will require daily and weekly interaction with distribution locations to ensure routing data is current and that optimized routes are being adhered to.
Training and support of field personnel in the use of the tool will be necessary.Recommends and implements network studies (Paragon).
Analyzes adherence to Network Studies (Paragon).
Provides feedback to ensure study benefits are being captured.Reviews current logistics plans (i.E.
shuttle network), current Statement of Processes (SOP’s), shipping procedures, and researches alternative options to current process.Provides hands-on support to locations resolving customer issues and directing logistics.
Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers and accommodate production flowTroubleshoots and investigates distribution and logistics issues and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.As a member of the Distribution team, will be well-versed in Department of Transportation (DOT) Hours of Service (HOS) Rules for drivers and fleet support activities to ensure the team remains effective.
May provide project support for new initiatives (e.G.
Hand held devices, RF Scanners,).PGI all daily shipments and deliveriesShipment creation on a daily basis for the Major Operations locations, as well as MicroBulk, Tube Trailer, helium dewar movements and branch based routes; communicating with drivers throughout.Are you a MATCH?Bachelor Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or BusinessMinimum of 3 years of prior experience in a transportation, logistics, supply chain management, finance, or operational support role required.
Three years of prior related experience preferred.Advanced SAP experience preferred.Excellent customer service & communication skills.Microsoft Office and Google Suite proficiency to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Mail, Drive.Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.Strong skills in problem identification, evaluation and solution.Solid organizational skills to manage multiple open projectsStrong worth ethic with a profession, positive attitude and an eagerness to learnDemonstrates ability to effectively communicate orally to individuals and groups.
