Accounts Payable Clerk – Part Time

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for coordinating and performing a broad range accounts payable duties and clerical/support/reception functions in the department. Ensures that requests for information and services are accurately responded to, in a timely and appropriate manner.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

  • Performs reception/secretarial functions, including answering phones, inventory and ordering/stocking of department supplies, data entry functions, receiving and prepping incoming mail/deliveries, mailing checks, filling copy of the checks. Ensures that requests for information are accurately responded to in a timely and appropriate manner. Maintains confidentiality.
  • Performs duties in preparation for approval of invoices. Verifies that all invoices have proper approval per AP department policy, and escalates issues to VP, Shared Services in a timely manner. Places copy of CER in Shared Drive. Run reports and completes other duties as assigned.
  • Provides excellent telephone coverage, returning all vendor calls on same day. Effectively uses all applicable computer and office systems/procedures to coordinate documentation, data, and information to ensure timely communication and smooth operations. Ensures appropriate Completes filing in timely manner. Ensures the work area is clean, clutter free, and organized.
  • Ensures that requests for information are accurately responded to in a timely and appropriate manner. Demonstrates appropriate use of independent judgement and decision making. Demonstrates excellent customer service at all times.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience: Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job. Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English. Computer literacy and proficiency. Understanding of basic medical terminology. Ability to multitask and prioritize needs to meet timelines. Bilingual skills preferred. Previous experience in accounts payable or administrative role preferred.
