You will build out, stand up, own, and oversee an entire data science organization within the company.
You can view this as a “start up” and greenfield situation, even though our client is well-established.

This is a permanent/direct-hire position based in Atlanta, GA that offers 3 days WFH, excellent benefits package with 401K (with match), a great culture, and the opportunity to make an impact Overview of the role: This person will oversee all business and technical aspects of our client’s Data Science group including data science and machine learning.
You will work & collaborate with the other executives and various other stakeholders.
You will be accountable for building and leading a best-in-class data science organization that is at the center of our client’s growth strategy and supports several key business goals.
What else will the VP be expected to do: Will be in charge of building, leading, and growing the data science organization & its capabilities in order to support the entire business.
Create and oversee the data science & machine learning roadmap, agenda, vision, strategy, and operational processes.
Be the face for the Data Science organization throughout the entire company.
Hire, develop, and allocate resources/team members in the data science organization to ensure that analytics use cases effectively drive business value.
Oversee entire lifecycle of data science analytics use case development from scoping and designing solutions to scaling from pilot to adoption and adaptation.
Drive the data science organization to solve abstract problems in an agile manner.
Formulate and define data science analytics use case scope, timeline, objectives, and implications.
Ensure that data science analytics use cases effectively drive business value.
Design and execute on a vision that is consistent with the company’s plans for growth and evolution.
What you need to bring to the table: 10 years of experience in data science, machine learning, and analytics.
Proven track record managing and leading data science teams (director level or higher).
Strong knowledge in enterprise-level data science solutions.
Ability to tie data insights into tangible commercial and consumer use cases.
Solid B2C background and experience.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
High degree of organization, attention to details, initiative, and accountability.
Familiarity with analytical tools and statistical methods required for AI / ML based analysis.
Experience scoping and designing solutions and scaling from pilot to adoption.
Ability to create & drive business value by communication advanced data science artifacts, insights, solutions, and resulting implications throughout the company.
Proven team building and leadership skills.
Clear understanding of what resources are needed for department success.
Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, to ensure analytics use cases are properly executed and carried out.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or related discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Management).
A Master’s degree or higher in a technical field and/or Business would be a plus.
