Virgin Hyperloop is hosting a remote internship program this summer! Internship length time frame 10-12 weeks during the summer of 2021 Two available start dates 6121 62121 Availability interns must be available for 40 hoursweek (sorry, no overtime!) Compensation all internship positions have a fixed hourly rate of 19.00hour Eligible applicants applicants must have current work authorization for the United States (U.S.-based student visas are eligible). Applicants without current work authorization unfortunately cannot be considered. Location this is a completely remote program due to economic constraints related to tax implications, we are only accepting applicants residing in the states of California or Nevada. To connect the world, we must reflect the world. At Virgin Hyperloop, were bringing together unique perspectives, empowering our community to celebrate all voices, and creating equal opportunities to build, grow, and thrive. WHY WE NEED YOU The Systems Engineering Team at Virgin Hyperloop is a scrappy, cross-functional team responsible to define, develop, mature the requirements and functional definitions of our system with broad interdependencies spanning product lifecycle from inception (defining the needs constraints of hardware and software components) through to testing delivery (controlling the verification methods of individual capabilities constraints). The Systems Engineering Team is responsible to deliver the functional, performance, interface, and other requirements defining the systems capabilities supporting the work of engineering design teams (hardware + software), testing integration, and external vendors for design gate milestones. WHAT YOU’LL DO As a Systems Engineering intern, you will define system architectures of the Passenger Pod system. Under the guidance of the MBSE Lead Passenger Pod Lead Systems Engineer you will Define, maintain, control the functional (behavioral) data model of the Passenger Pod. Analyze changes, update, maintain the sub-componentsub-system interfaces of the Passenger Pod. Lead analysis identification of changes to functional specifications of the Passenger Pod. You can effectively work in a remote setting managing tasking, communicating progress seeking out information via electronics means instant messages, email, video-chat. WHAT YOU’VE DONE Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, other related discipline, or equivalent coursework. Experience analyzing systems made up of multiple componentssub-systemssub-modules, decomposing broad system functionalitycapabilities into smaller (essential) capabilities of the sub-systemssub-modules. Analyzing systems and defining functions features from black-box and white-box engineering perspectives. Defining software modulefunction input output data structures. Understanding of physical interfaces between components how to define physical interdependencies of a component (e.g. specifying the electrical, mechanical, human-machine aspects of a component how it relies on other neighboring components to satisfy these interdependencies).
