We are seeking a Systems Engineering Consultant area to join our Aviation Technology team in Los Angeles, CA.
Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Systems Engineering Consultant engaging in the design, evaluation, and integration of special systems for transportation projects.
The Systems Engineering Consultant performs existing system assessments, master plan development, gap analysis, system design and engineering, testing/commissioning, and project/program management.
We evaluate existing conditions, plans, and designs making recommendations to improve outcomes in support of the client’s objectives.
We support multidisciplinary teams across multiple modes of transportation including aviation, rail and transit projects.
Additional opportunities support to Education, Power, Transit and Hospital consulting and design projects.
Evaluation, engineering and design of electronic systems including access control, video surveillance, identify management, cybersecurity, networking, SCADA, lighting, solar collection, UPS, and electric power systems.
Work closely with inter-disciplinary technical leaders .
Assist in the successful technical and commercial delivery of projects. Review, analysis, and development of drawings detailing the systems designed.
Writing of reports and specifications.
Research and evaluate new technologies.
Assist management with proposal preparation and response.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree 8+ years of relevant experience Sound knowledge and experience with 49CFR1542, TSA Checkpoint Design Guidelines, Recommended Security Guidelines for Airport Planning and Design and CBP Airport Technical Design Standards Knowledge of engineering fundamentals as they relate to building systems and site servicing Excellent interpersonal skills will be needed to develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, Architects, Engineers, Contractors and other team members Familiar and experienced in working with Microsoft Office products and Revit Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment and must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges Experience across a range of additional project types including high rise commercial, post-secondary education, convention centers, transportation, etc.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Desired Certifications: ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP), ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM), or Project Management Professional (PMP), ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as logarithms, higher order linear equations, calculus and economic analysis.
Ability to apply knowledge to electrical, mechanical, or civil/structural design problems.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge/ability to learn MS Outlook Contact Management systems; MS Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word, MS PowerPoint Word Processing software.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
A demonstrated ability to perform system or project designs with only general technical supervision from the engineering staff.
The ability to direct less experienced design team members and work within a design team environment.
Potential to exercise independence in performing engineering studies and projects, assessing technical data or engineering plans and performing engineering tasks and plan review functions in a specialization.
Ability to balance technical expertise with excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with team and clients.
A demonstrated ability to remain abreast of new and current design concepts and techniques.
Potential to become a known industry expert in specialization.
Must be able to attend client site surveys and/or client meetings 10% of the time.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Ability to pass a drug screen as per client requirement.
