Systems Engineering and Integration Product Security Manager

The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space and Launch Division is seeking a Systems Engineering and Integration Product Security Manager (Level L) to support the team in El Segundo, CA.  The position provides an opportunity to build an experienced cyber security engineering team and cyber security engineering products to support design, development, integration, validation and verification for Boeing Space and Launch programs. 

The Space and Launch Team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the development of the next-generation technologies in space.  Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Overview:

The Systems Engineering and Integration Product Security Manager will be a part of a high-performing team that are immersed in high intensity development projects.  As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead the development of our innovative technology in an agile environment.  As a Systems Engineering and Integration Product Security Manager you will lead the cyber security activities across the Space and Launch portfolio. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage program cyber security plans.

  • Lead system level cyber security integration and test planning and execution, to include functional validation as well as formal sell-off of requirements.

  • Provide leadership over planning, scheduling, risk management and opportunity capture activities for cyber security.

  • Execute accreditation and authorization activities per JSIG, DoD and ICD 503 RMF, and/or NISPOM.

  • Collaborate with cross functional departments to ensure that cyber security system objectives are being met.

  • Support new business development activities, including proposals, cost and schedule estimation.

  • Plan and manage program cyber security work scope (Cost, Schedule, Technical Quality).

  • Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities for employees.

  • Perform employee performance management, hiring, retention, awards/recognition, and goal setting.

  • Execute to program staffing, hiring, critical skills, and employee development plans.

  • Support critical program staffing and redeployment activities, and identification of cyber security engineering strategic skills.

  • Develop and execute of a robust training and development plan.

  • Develop employee engagement activities to motivate and engage the workforce.

Work Authorization:

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship required).  (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

This position requires a current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) US Citizenship required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 10 years or more of experience In development, integration, validations, and verification of cyber security systems.

  • Security+ certification and/or CISSP certification.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with government customers and government programs.

  • Experience with managing a cyber security or technical teams.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
