The KC-130J Engineer will:Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.Performs feasibility analysis, Integrated Logistics Support Analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into system specificationsProvide engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline required to meet technical requirements.Make recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.
Performs risk assessments and analysis employing modeling and simulation techniques.Skills:Experience with C-130J and/or commercial derivative aircraft systems upgrades to include avionics, radar, communications, mission computing systems, global positioning systems, threat warning systems, navigation, structures, flight controls, and defensive systems desiredExperience in aviation maintenance, maintenance planning, manufacturing, or designPerform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specificationsExperience managing analysis of structural loads, flight dynamics, electrical loads, thermal loads, EMI/EMC and weight and balanceExperience with Software Integration, ground and flight test requirements, planning execution and reportingExperience with Weapon System Trainer sustainment engineering, and tech refreshExperience with obtaining flight and aircraft airworthiness certificationsExperience developing the organization processes, procedures for various engineering analysisExperience with drafting Engineering Change Proposals, Technical Directives, System Engineering Plans and Test Evaluation Master Plans.Experience with the NAVAIR Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) ProcessEnsure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraintsEstablish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product development, integration, and testEstablish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedulesEstablish budgets and applies earned value management procedures for financial management of contractsIdentify program Risks and Issues and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specificationsAct independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of assigned projects.Participate in presenting to customer and in the development of potential solutions to customer requirementsPlan R D programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectivesMust have a maintain an active Secret ClearanceAll candidates must be a U.S.
