Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer is responsible for being our internal product and technology expert who can work with software architects and our DevOps team to make sure their requirements are properly mapped to the features and capabilities of our products.
Responsibilities and Duties
Work with our DevOps team to uncover, understand, and translate needs into technical requirements.
Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations by working well with internal and external teams, including developers, architects, quality assurance, operations, and regulatory.
Operate as our product expert by answering incoming questions about the product and its capabilities, assessing and addressing technical risk.
Facilitate and participate in the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
Develop and prioritize user stories, along with success criteria for testing and product acceptance
Develop and maintain feature backlogs.
Qualifications and Skills
Required
Minimum 7 years’ experience. 2+ years of experience with agile software development and using software project management tools (JIRA, Confluence)
Skilled at developing and exercising cross-functional influence, translating between business owners and functional/technical teams.
Skilled at technical writing and communication of technical concepts to a business-minded audience.
Strong knowledge of the technology concepts used in our distributed architectures: message queueing, containerization, micro-services, web applications, APIs, business intelligence solutions, data analytics, integrations, data security and encryption, load balancing, redundancy, databases (SQL Server a preference), key-value stores (etcd)
Demonstrated experience working on or closely with remote engineering teams, comfortable using video conferencing tools (Zoom) to stay in touch and collaborate with team members.
Preferred
Experience as a software developer.
Experience in the Medical Device Industry.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information assurance, cybersecurity, forensics, or related field.
