Job Summary We are looking for a candidate to provide Linux technical expertise and solutions to teams and staff at The Getty.
The Linux Engineer will be required to work with other teams and staff to make recommendations, solve problems and implement standards and solutions.
You will be managing systems and services in the cloud and on premise as you assist in the deployment of applications and services.
You will help manage existing and new technologies and policies to create scalable solutions.
Major Job Responsibilities Administer and manage the overall Linux based infrastructure and services which includes deployment, configuration and management of Linux systems Design and deploy the infrastructure and services for new applications Work with teams to move existing applications and services to a cloud provider Configures and assists in the design of cloud, systems and network security Install and manage container orchestration software and repositories Utilizes infrastructure as code to deploy and maintain architectures Participates in capacity, performance and availability planning for system configuration, software services, network services, load distribution, and service interrelationships among systems and services Builds, installs, configures, evaluates, tunes, and troubleshoots systems to achieve optimum performance levels Monitors and evaluates resource usage to recommenddevelop enhancements to system capabilities and performance Resolves difficult system problems and provides consultation or training Creates documents for users, staff, consulting personnel, and developers Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of education and relevant experience 2-5 years of Windows, Unix, Linux or mobile system administration experience Requirement All employees must be fully-vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus as a condition of employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience in managing Linux operating systems.
Experience with a configuration management tool or infrastructure as code including Ansible, Chef, Puppet or Terraform Experience with web based applications and infrastructure Experience with monitoring systems and services Experience with networking protocols and implementations Experience in infrastructure services, such as DNS, Email and firewalls Demonstrated knowledge of security protocols and vulnerability remediation Experience in VMware or other virtualization tool Ability to manage resources, perform complex tasks and resolve complex systems problems Experience in a scripting language including Perl, PowerShell, Python or shell scripting Experience with a configuration management tool or infrastructure as code including Ansible or Terraform is a plus Experience using Docker and container orchestration, such as Kubernetes is a plus Experience with managing cloud resources in AWS is a plus Ability to work in partnership with team members Equal Opportunity Employer We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
