The Collins Aerospace Surface Transportation team is searching for a motivated Senior System and Software Test Engineer.
In this role, you will be responsible for integration and acceptance testing of Train Control Applications including Positive Train Control, Centralized Traffic Control, Passenger Information and Display Systems (PIDS), and Back Office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining test artifacts including test plans, procedures, reports, manual and automated scripts.
- Maintaining requirements traceability.
- Executing manual and automated tests.
- Identifying and documenting defects and questionable functions.
- Managing and coordinating resolution of defects through to closure and generating statistics.
- Participating in team meetings and activities.
- Participating in development and peer reviews of software documentation.
- Configuration management of test environment and lab.
- Creation and installation of test and release builds.
- Supporting production issues
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
- Testing client-server applications on Windows/Unix OS
- Familiarity with C/C++ and Java programming with SQL
- Experience with TCL, Python, Bash/ Perl scripting languages.
Preferred Qualifications:
- REST API testing, AWS/Azure concepts
- Formal Test Cycles (planning, documentation, execution, Root Cause Analysis, and reporting)
- Data driven, functional and requirements-based testing (RTM)
- Hands on testing(manual/automated) and implementation of test automation and framework design
- Experience with change management processes and procedures
- Experience with the testing SCADA systems and/or train control applications including Positive Train Controls
- DevOps Knowledge/experience
