As a Software Engineer III, you’ll also dive into projects that focus on team cohesiveness and cross-team objectives.
You’ll lead without authority and provide other engineers with a clear illustration of extraordinary engineering.
As a Staff Software Engineer on Project L, you will use your understanding of the entire software development lifecycle, while honing your craft in at least one area of specialization.
You will work with state-of-the-art technology, and explore new solutions to surprise and delight our players.
You will lead a team of engineers in the technical direction, implementation of the product, and their professional development.
You will report to the Manager of Software Engineering of the project.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of engineers in developing gameplay systems and tooling Participate in and guide technical design and implementation Contribute substantially to the codebase Oversee the quality and maintainability of your code Work with cross-disciplinary teams
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of gameplay development experience 2+ years of experience leading a team of 4+ engineers 2+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Unreal Engine, tool development, fighting game development BS in Computer Science, or proven understanding of Computer Science fundamentals Excellent knowledge of common game and software design patterns Strong ability to collaborate with teammates across multiple disciplines Proven ability to develop gameplay systems Product sense and player empathy in making tech decisions
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or relevant field Experience defining microservices-based architectures, scalable systems architecture and maintainable software systems for a SaaS product Experience using Unreal Engine 4 Affinity for the fighting game genre Deep knowledge of modern C++ and/or Go Experience working collaboratively with other engineers on technical design and implementation You believe that diverse teams are fundamentally more engaging.
