We look for problem solvers, who can intuitively anticipate problems; look beyond immediate issues; and take initiative to improve both our software and our development infrastructure. We believe in agile software development, metrics, short feedback loops, well-designed application, early test development, automation wherever possible, and are open to adoption of the latest tools and techniques for solving complex problems.Responsibilities:Architecting and developing JavaScript-based applications for the content pipeline that drives the PlayStation network for gaming consolesProduce excellent, thorough design and development documentationWork with limited supervision under tight time constraints and respond to rapidly evolving requirementsContribute to existing and develop new common software components to benefit other SIE client applicationsTutor and coach junior Engineers within the development teamRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or relevant professional experience in lieu of a degreeProficient with at least one widely adopted single page application (SPA) architectureExpert in React Native or React.jsExpert in object oriented, asynchronous JavaScriptHighly proficient in HTML5 / CSS3Experience leading the development and providing technical engineering vision of medium to large sized applicationsExperience in performance tuning network connected applicationsExperience shipping 2-3 consumer facing, web applicationsStrong technical, analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated with an ability to take initiativeExperience in developing high-performance user interfacesPassionate about quality and writing clean, readable code that scales and performs wellPreferred Qualifications:Familiarity with JavaScript frameworksFamiliarity with Restful API’sProfessional experience in Java or object-oriented programmingCustomer-facing UI DevelopmentExperience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies#LI-TM2Equal Opportunity Statement:Sony is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
