Position Title: Space Software Engineer
Location: El Segundo, CA
Who we are:
Pacific Defense Strategies, a small non-traditional company rapidly developing advanced electronic systems for space RF payload applications, is looking for a Space Software Engineer to join our team.
Pacific Defense is pushing the boundaries of innovation, redefining engineering capabilities and challenging the status quo of traditional space development. We approach rapid prototyping employing a commercial mentality into the space industry. Products are designed from the outset for modern, AI-driven autonomy and open standards aligned hardware and software solutions. This includes state-of-the-art processing that can readily follow the evolution of commercial technology with complete data sharing across networks and platforms. Our team is chartered with providing the skills, innovative technologies to develop, design, produce and sustain optimized products for the space sector while providing a decisive advantage to our customers. Come be a part of our team!
Pacific Defense Space Systems is actively seeking a highly motivated, naturally curious, driven software leader to apply their engineering skills to rapid deployment of space capable payloads and systems for USG and commercial customers. A drive to innovate and a strong engineering background are key attributes needed to develop with our team and deliver rapid capabilities across various platforms. Are you tired of working in a large matrix organization saddled by bureaucracy, led by individuals who have not walked a mile in the technical shoes needed to make coherent decisions and deliver on-time and on-budget for customers? Apply your appetite to grow with our team creating, innovating, and delivering the next wave of disruptive space technologies.
The ideal candidate is an innovative, technically grounded, rationale decision maker who objectively use facts and data to guide solutions. The candidate possesses real-world, hands-on programming experience, combined with a depth and breadth of knowledge applicable to space applications with a focus on command and control of space electronic systems. The individual is a growth-oriented engineering leader looking to break from the functional bureaucracy found in most large aerospace corporations. They are willing to take on challenges outside of their comfort zone and execute on assignments. The candidate demonstrates a collaborative personality, strong communication skills, and is self-motivated. An ability to execute on tasks without supervision is critical, as well as recognizing and anticipating additional scope necessary to deliver complete solutions. This person isn’t afraid to ask “why?” and challenge the status quo when it unnecessarily constrains the solution space. The individual is rooted by engineering and not afraid to expand and broaden their education, and experience. Knowledge of techniques and procedures for mitigation of radiation effects with demonstrated experience is highly desired. Additionally, the candidate either has experience or is excited to gain experience in business development. This candidate is interested in space and looking to make a difference.
We seek people who want to get their hands dirty in all phases of the life cycle and seek to make important decisions through data driven rationale pushing the limits of what is achievable on highly accelerated time frames.
