The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability is seeking a Software Test Lead Engineer in El Segundo, California.
The position will involve architecting and developing the verification software suite for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system.
This role leads activities to develop, document and maintain test suite architecture, interfaces and designs as part of an integrated CI/CD pipeline. This candidate develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, automates the test procedures and documents test results to ensure software system requirements are met. This position leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics as well as plans, executes and documents software research and development projects.
The position serves as a subject matter expert for software verification capabilities, system-specific issues, processes and regulations as well as tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance (as required) to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
Position Responsibilities:
- Architect and automate the test framework solution to meet stakeholders’ requirements and technology
- Lead the design and implementation of automated test environments via real time simulation environment or target hardware
- Lead development of a robust test automation frameworks that allows for rapid test script creation while being maintainable and extensible for future needs
- Work with engineering teams to ensure automated test framework solutions
support the ongoing application development and delivery efforts - Lead the integration of the automated test framework into the DevSecOps tool chain
- Lead the identification, innovation, implementation of new tools and processes to support this work scope
- Communicate test program status to program and customer leadership
- Responsible for developing test plans, procedures, and reports
- Collaborate with other engineering teams on test anomalies and deficiencies
- Provide critical support and independent review of the work of teammates
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location option.
This position requires the ability to obtain an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required) and ability to complete a CI (Counter Intelligence) polygraph post start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
- 10+ years of direct experience designing and developing software for a real time and non-real-time system
- 5+ years of experience with automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using DevOps tool chain (Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc)
- 5+ years of experience with real-time/near real-time simulations packages and development
- 2 years of experience in Deploying CI/CD in automating build and deployment processes as well as in the execution of testing frameworks
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Active Top Security/SCI Clearance with CI Poly
- 14+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing automated test frameworks for real time and non-real-time systems
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: 161,500-218,500
