Software Product Management Intern – Summer

FYI (https://fyi.me) is an innovative new messaging and productivity app for creatives. Our goal is to be the ultimate collaboration tool for artists, content creators and professionals working in the creative fields. Based in Hollywood, CA and founded by veterans in the tech and entertainment industry.

FYI is searching for interns to assist the product management team with market research, feature development, product testing, and data analysis.

Ideal candidates are tech-savvy, possess outstanding leadership skills, and are highly motivated to create an awesome product experience.

This is a summer internship. Exact start/end dates can be flexible.

Interns must be able to work in person at our office in Hollywood, CA for between 25-30 hours per week. Interns must be able to come in during regularly scheduled shifts, Monday through Friday.

*Roles and Responsibilities:*

· Assisting in Product Development: You will be supporting the product development process by helping to create and refine product-related documentation, such as product requirements, roadmaps, and project plans. You may also be involved in collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, design, and marketing, to ensure that the product meets customer needs and expectations.

· Product Testing and Quality Assurance: You will be involved in the testing and quality assurance process, such as identifying potential issues, reporting bugs, and working with the development team to find solutions. You will also help in conducting user testing or market validation activities to gather feedback on the product’s usability and desirability.

· Tracking Performance Metrics: You will assist in tracking key performance metrics related to the product’s adoption, usage, and success. You might help the product manager analyze data and create reports to inform stakeholders on the product’s performance and inform decisions for future improvements.

· Market Research: You will help with conducting market research to identify trends, competitors, and target customer segments for the company’s products. This may include gathering data, analyzing consumer preferences, and examining competitors’ strategies to help inform product decision-making.

· Staying up-to-date with product knowledge: Interns are expected to use the FYI app and become knowledgeable in all its features. Interns must stay informed about product changes, updates and new releases so they can provide stakeholders with accurate information.

· Supporting Marketing and Sales Initiatives: You may assist in creating sales tools, promotional materials, or presentations to help the marketing and sales teams showcase the product’s benefits and value proposition to potential customers. You may also help in coordinating product launches, events, or other activities that contribute to customer engagement and brand awareness.

· You must be an excellent representative of the FYI brand

· You will assist with onboarding new users and demo-ing the product

· You will learn how to use JIRA to report product bugs and issues

· Be willing to help with other tasks as needed

*Requirements and Qualifications:*

· Must have access to an iPhone or Android phone for using the product.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills: Interns must be able to articulate themselves clearly and effectively with customers, colleagues and stakeholders from different backgrounds and levels of expertise.

· Problem-solving skills: Interns should be able to diagnose product issues and provide solutions for a wide range of problems. This requires an analytical mindset and the ability to think creatively. Attention to detail is a must.

· Technical skills: FYI is a tech company. Interns must be tech-savvy and active users of technology including the latest mobile apps, productivity tools, have above-average computer skills, and be able to analyze data.

· Interpersonal skills: Strong interpersonal skills are important for building relationships, managing expectations, and navigating conflicts. Interns must possess a strong teamwork and collaboration mindset, and maintain a positive attitude.

· Time management skills: Interns must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and maintain accuracy and attention to detail, while balancing multiple priorities.

· Self-directed and able to work independently if needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour
