About the Role
(We are hiring for all levels of experience.)
We are looking for a engineer with expertise in sensor modeling.
This role will focus on leading our initiatives related to replicating sensors in our simulated environments.
At Applied, we encourage all engineers to take ownership over technical and product decisions, closely interact with users to collect feedback, and contribute to a thoughtful, dynamic team culture.
At Applied, you will:
- Design and implement core components of our proprietary simulation engine
- Lead projects related to robotics such as motion planning, mapping, and system modeling
- Work with top autonomy companies to understand and solve unique challenges in simulation-based development and scalable testing of autonomy stacks
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience with Modeling, Lidar, Radar, & Camera systems in 3D environment
- Has experience with Modeling Propagation mechanics for various sensing modalities
- Has experience with Modeling Material interactions for various sensing modalities
- Has experience Implementing models in Python & C++
Nice to have:
- Design and analysis of Lidar, Radar, and Camera
- Detailed knowledge of inner design of Lidar, Radar, and Camera
- Hands on experience with characterization of models for Lidar, Radar, and Camera
- Competent skills & experience in signal processing, linear algebra, antenna theory, optics, circuits, photonics, electro-optics
