Seeking a mission focused Software Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles County, CA supporting our DOD customers as part of Arcfield’s Mission Maintenance Future Requirements (MMFR) Program

MMFR provides support services and solutions for ballistic and hypersonic test missions at DoD, NASA, and other agency ranges around the world including broad ocean areas. We deliver mission planning, logistics, network and systems engineering, telemetry, data and voice communications, and cybersecurity support. Specific duties will include

  • Conducts research in design, development, testing and utilization of electronic data processing software.
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met. Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
  • Designs, develops, and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
  • Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with an object-oriented language (C++, Java, C#, etc…).
  • Experience working with git for source code version control.
  • Experience with developing network applications (UDP/TCP sockets).
  • Willingness to work closely with a software team, and individually as required.
  • Must have a Current/Active Secret or above clearance
  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree with 5-7 years of experience or a Master Degree with 3-5 years of experience or PhD and 0-2 years of experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with lockless multi-threaded application development.
  • Experience with creating front-end applications to visualize real-time data.
  • Basic system administration (Linux/Windows) / network administration experience (Cisco).
  • Experience with developing custom C++ extensions using the NetAcquire Server Extension Toolkit.
  • Experience developing applications to support TMoIP.
  • Basic understanding of IRIG 106 (Chapter 4 and Chapter 10).
