The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability is seeking a Software Configuration Management Engineer in El Segundo CA. The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system. Position Responsibilities:

Work closely with Program CM and Software Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure timely release of product software and documentation

Create and maintain program Software Configuration Management Plan (SCMP)
-
Development of builds, scripts, procedures, and control systems, including source code control and issue tracking.

Execute software release and change control functions using the designated SCM Tools in an Agile environment, in order to ensure software product integrity and to meet program schedules.

Responsible for configuration status accounting, tracking all problems and changes in product documents and software, and report changes and current configuration

Manage digital product development libraries
-
Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate Software Configuration Control Board activities

Develop and generate metrics as related to SCM (e.g., issue tracking counts, lines of code).

Establish and enforce SCM Policy on assigned program(s) as documented in the project Software Configuration Management Plans (SCMP)

Support generation of Software Version Description (SVD) and Configuration Guides to document released baselines.
This position requires the ability to obtain an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required) and ability to complete a CI (Counter Intelligence) polygraph after employment start.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor, or Master degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree

2+ years of experience with version control and change management tool(s)
-
2+ years of Software Configuration Management technology, Information Technology (IT), and/or development experience
-
2+ years of experience in Windows and Unix/Linux Operating Systems
-
Experience with build, test, and deploy automation tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, Ansible, and Maven.
-
Experience using team collaboration tools including Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence.
-
Experience using repository manager such as Artifactory or Nexus.
-
Experience with Continuous Improvement, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) concepts
-
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

3+ years of experience designing and developing software for a real time or non-real-time system

Experience and administration of CM Tools (Jira, Git/Bitbucket)

Experience and administration of Continuous Integration Tools (Jenkins, GitLab)

Experience with Agile Scrum/SAFe practices or Agile Scrum Master Certification

Knowledge of various scripting languages (e.g., perl, shell, python)

Active Security Clearance
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Bachelor’s degree and typically 2 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with experience in an engineering classification.
Experienced (Level 3)
Bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification.
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
Typical Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay-range:
Associate Level (Level 2) $75,000 – 134,000
Mid-level (Level 3) $93,000 – 165,000
