The Opportunity…

The SVP of Data Engineering will lead the department responsible for managing existing data resources and implementing new high-performance, cross-platform technologies to further enable business analytics across the company.

This position will be responsible for ensuring Centerfield leverages best-in-class data architecture, infrastructure and technology, as well as help drive scalable data sharing practices across the organization.

A successful candidate should be a thought leader in the technology space, with the ability to build and scale a growing team of data engineers who are responsible for supporting a diverse business.

The candidate should also be willing to be hands on with designing and architecting scalable, reliable and accessible data systems.

How You’ll Contribute…

  • Lead the architecture and the development of data, analytics and reporting applications.
  • Collaborate with peers in Operations, Product, Finance, and Technology to prioritize, plan and release data related products and features to support Centerfield’s business.
  • Define vision, drive team execution, and oversee the architecture and engineering process.

    This will require strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to ensure alignment across the organization.

  • Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team members.

    Help develop their careers, ensure they progress their skill levels, understand their work styles and apply that understanding toward helping them set and reach professional goals.

  • Identify structural and process improvement opportunities, overseeing the development and implementation of best practices for modern development principles and methodologies.
  • Innovate with and expand the organization’s insight, intelligence and analytics products, emerging approaches, skills and technologies.
  • Research and develop new data solutions and tools sets.
  • Oversee the development and release of an enterprise BI platform.

What We’re Looking For…

  • The ideal candidate will have a B.

    S.

    degree in Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent.

    Master’s degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in a software development role in Enterprise data applications (i.

    e.

    big data, data warehousing, data science, and analytics solutions) including 5+ years in a technology leadership position, digital media experience is preferred.

  • Preferred candidates have an established track record of defining solutions and leading the implementation of large-scale high quality data enterprise solutions.
  • Experience building, operating, and scaling large scale distributed systems
  • Experience building systems with significant levels of automation and minimal human intervention at an extreme scale
  • Proven track record of developing and evolving data and analytics capabilities in the cloud (preferably using AWS).
  • Data analytics experience a plus (R, Python).
  • Solid understanding and experience in the Agile methodology, hands on management of agile, iterative development spanning specification, prototyping, architecture, QA, operations and support.
