The Data Platform team is responsible for providing the core building blocks necessary to enable GOAT to capture the full power of data.
We work closely with Data Science, Data Analytics, and the broader engineering team.
At GOAT, Data Scientists are expected to work full-stack.
This requires reliable infrastructure and abstractions provided by the Data Platform team.
This is an opportunity to join as an early member of this team and help shape its direction.
In this role you will:
- Architect systems and frameworks from scratch that allow Data Science and other engineering teams to leverage data effectively in a self-serve manner
- Work closely with full-stack Data Scientists to understand and address their platform needs
- Empower Data Analytics by enhancing our data workflow systems and building out a real-time analytics platform
- Identify new opportunities and new technologies that improve our existing systems and make our collaborators lives easier
- Improve the reliability and processes around all data systems even as the amount of data continues to scale
We are looking for:
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Exceptional programming skills (SQL required, Python and Go are a plus)
- Experience working on production stream processing systems utilizing technologies like Kafka, Materialize, Flink, Druid, etc
- Experience with data workflow tooling like Airflow
- Familiarity with AWS or another cloud platform
- A quick learner, a self-starter, able to work independently, and youre willing (and able) to handle the pressures of an increasing level of responsibility
