Common App is currently searching for a Senior Software Developer. Responsibilities Our senior software developer position reports to our Associate Director of Development and is part of a team of developers designing and developing both web-based and mobile software products for Common App. Our developers work in a team environment to assist in software architecture design and to implement high-quality software products that meet the needs of Common App community. This position plans develops, modifies, and tests software components using .NET technologies within an Amazon Web Service and Agile development environment to create new products and enhance existing software systems. Our software developers also serve as Tier 3 escalation capacity to ensure quality in support of the end-user experience and may serve as mentors or provide direct guidance to other Software Developers. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS This role requires: Candidates must live in the United States. Bachelor’s degree in computer science (preferred) or other relevant area. 6+ years of experience in software development; or combined relevant experience. Performing complex research, design, implementation, and testing tasks within our Angular 2+ and .NET Core technologies within an AWS Cloud and Agile development environment. Supporting code deployments to production and QA environments using automated CI/CD. Monitoring production operation on an as-needed basis to ensure the organization’s commitments are met. Serving as a mentor to new team members, providing guidance in their daily activities; assists for their continued growth. Providing knowledge and guidance to other Software Developers. Contributing to and maintaining technical documentation. Collaborating with other team members to incorporate best practices and innovations into our web-based and mobile app hybrid frameworks. Leveraging team development standards, patterns, and design principles in daily activities. Collaborating closely with Quality Assurance Analysts & Engineers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, DevOps Engineers, and User Experience designers during discovery, design, and development. Staying current on technology trends and indentifying ways to innovate. Assisting in managing production system to ensure operational availability and the end-user experience. Demostrating an interest in going above and beyond the standard job responsibilities, including a desire to progress further in the current role. Models and upholds company core values.
