Senior Network Engineer

KellyIT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a full time opportunity with our client in Marina del Rey CA.

Summary:

Under the supervision of CIO, the incumbent is responsible for providing network engineering and technical support for LAN, WAN, and network infrastructure to ensure that systems are operating at peak efficiency with little or no downtime. Designs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains network equipment across multiple brands. Ensures that industry best practices are applied with regard to the use of technology, procedures, and methodology. Provides assistance other Network Engineers and System administrators. May provide technical and training assistance to less experienced IT staff. As a Network Engineer at ISI, you will have the opportunity to work with other highly skilled technology experts on complex systems and interesting technical challenges.

 

 

 

The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility and access. Eligibility for this clearance requires U.S. citizenship. Current clearance is a plus.

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a range of existing skills and prior experience, including specialization in each of the following categories:

  • U.S. citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience as corporate network engineer.
  • Manage Network Routers, Switches, Firewall, VPN, Access Points, and VoIP (including complex troubleshooting)
  • Arista/Cisco networking certification or commensurate networking experience
  • Experiencing with layer 2/3 networking technologies, including STP, ECMP, OSPF, BGP
  • Experienced in the use of networking tools like cable/Fiber tester or Probe, protocol analyzer and wireless analyzer
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including setup and network configuration
  • Nagios metrics collection and trending/alerting tools
  • Defining network security policies and overseeing their implementation
  • Experience with Network Access Control platform administration
  • Experience with Linux OS as a user and scripting skill
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with significant experience in several of the following categories will be preferred:

  • Palo Alto Networks Firewall
  • HPE/Aruba Witches and Wireless APs Aruba ClearPass and OnGuard
  • DNS management platform e.g. infoblox
  • Switch OS: Cumulus Linux, Arista EOS
  • Linux: RHEL, CentOS or Debian as system admin
  • Hands-On experience of scripting and coding
  • AWS network management

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, maintain and administer infrastructure networks.
  • Proactively identify and resolve system reliability and performance concerns.
  • Manage, support, and upgrade (software and hardware) the ISI infrastructure and facilities.
  • Provide analytical and technical expertise on integration, installation, replacement and upgrades of network asset hardware and software.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Formulate standards for system management.
