Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS), Space and Launch is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Level 5) to support our team in Seal Beach, CA. Our multi-disciplinary team focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of next-generation, mission-focused technologies, products and services for a variety of customers. We work all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, architecture, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration. You will be part of project and technical teams to ensure modern, best practices across programs and product lines, in a highly dynamic, collaborative environment.
Position Overview:
The Senior Systems Engineer will join an impactful team that is immersed in innovative development projects. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your career on proprietary programs. This position will encompass activities across the systems engineering spectrum in design, build, deployment, operations, and maintenance for a wide variety of critically important platforms and systems. This role will lead and support the development of vital architecture requirements and design. You will guide our multidisciplinary engineering team as we progress on creative new endeavors.
Primary Responsibilities:

Analysis to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.

Develop, understand and document complex system architecture development with of multiple stakeholders.

Provide oversight of engineering activities to ensure process discipline, adherence to technical requirements, and performance to program commitments.

Contribute to development and integration activities, including product development, test, verification and complex system level thread support.

Communicate and bring awareness to risks and issues.
-
Communicate recommended actions and risk mitigations to technical teams and program leadership.

Contribute to strategy, product roadmaps, and technology plans for end to end mission integration, space operations, and ground architecture.
Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/Top Secret SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics.

5 years or more of experience with Systems Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
-
Experience in space and ground systems.
-
Experience with requirements development and derivation, specifications, and interface control documents.

Experience with software requirements verification testing.
-
Experience with scripting languages, and/or software development, and/or ops products.

Experience with Agile processes and tools.

Experience with control account management.
Typical Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree typically 14 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 12 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

California summary pay range (Level 5): Min: $157,250 – Max: $212,750
