The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Satellite Digital Payload Systems Engineer to support our Space & Launch programs in El Segundo, CA . As a Satellite Digital Payload Systems Engineer, you will design, develop, and deliver state-of-the-art payloads for space-based applications for commercial, civil, Milsatcom, and/or national security programs. You will lead a highly-motivated team that works with domestic or international customers on their latest satellite systems.
Position Responsibilities:
Define and develop satellite systems and payload architectures.
Lead trade studies for advanced technology designs.
Define and verify space payload system requirements and interfaces.
Lead system-level CONOPS development, functional analysis and decomposition.
Lead payload integration and validation.
Perform analyses and simulations for space payload systems.
Perform hardware engineering support, design reviews, and unit sell-off.
Lead system verification preparation, execution, troubleshooting, and sell-off.
Mentor the program junior systems engineers and review their work for quality.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering field
10+ years of experience working with digital hardware design, test, and verification
5+ years of experience working on aerospace payload systems
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Master’s or higher in Electrical Engineering
Experience with technology development and project management
Experience working with cross-functional teams
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
