Overview: The Network Development Associate is a top-of-funnel sales role focused on developing Flexe’s network of 3PL warehouse operators through cold-calling and email prospecting; gathering the data that supports matching those operators with Flexe’s shipper customers; and confirming interest from warehouse network partners in response to customer needs. Candidates must demonstrate effective, accurate communication of complex information.

Successful associates will be highly motivated and energetic sales professionals who are able to become proficient in warehouse operations and terminology, and are interested in complex high-value enterprise sales.

Ideal candidates are quick to learn, detail-oriented, persuasive, will present with confidence, and be motivated to achieve their own milestones but celebrate winning as a team.

For associates who demonstrate industry knowledge and effective communication skills, opportunities for career growth may include the potential to transition into Account Management or Market Director positions. This is an hourly role with base salary and variable compensation for introducing and onboarding warehouse partners, as well as recognition for team wins.

Responsibilities

    Responsibilities Outbound prospecting responsibilities:

  • Support Strategic Market Directors (SMDs) by prospecting to target 3PL warehouse operator accounts.
  • Generate awareness, gain engagement, and facilitate introductions with strategic contacts through email marketing, cold-calling, attending trade shows and conferences, and remote or in-person meetings. 
  • Team up with DNDs to introduce Flexe to 1PL and 3PL targets in introductory meetings and calls, with milestones for Virtual Meetings and Flexe Overview Presentations.
  • Through discovery conversations, assist with gathering operator attribute data and administrate the database to ensure accurate and up-to-date information about availability within Flexe’s warehouse network.
  • Partner relationship management responsibilities: 

  • Maintain relationships with key players at target accounts, updating operator attributes as necessary.
  • Partner with Marketing to maintain Facility/Operator profiles. 
  • Own the Capacity Reporting process for in-network operators, to ensure that Flexe’s market intelligence is as up-to-date as possible.
  • Become a subject matter expert on the CoStar commercial real estate database. 
  • Own the overall data hygiene for all warehouse network partners, completing database entries for target and non-target operator profiles alike.
  • Inbound lead management responsibilities: 

  • Answer inbound inquiries from warehouse operators looking to join the Flexe network;
  • Hold initial discovery calls independently to qualify or disqualify potential operators, and complete operator profiles for qualified leads.
  • Send initial requests for proposals to operators in the network.
  • Ensure that operator partners are actively engaged and responding to opportunities for Flexe customer programs. Source additional warehouse operators when needed.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years warehouse operations, logistics and/or supply chain background and experience is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing Business to Business (B2B) sales role, preferably selling into enterprise organizations is a plus
  • Effective communicator, proficient in verbal and written communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with prospecting and cold calling is preferred, ideally in a B2B context.
  • Experience using sales productivity tools such as SalesForce.com, Outreach, Chorus, etc.

    is preferred; experience with warehousing tools such as a WMS/ERP or CoStar is a plus.
