Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) Advanced Electro-Optics (AEO) has an upcoming opportunity for an early-career Systems Engineer. This is an opportunity to expand your systems engineering experience with airborne electro-optical systems, hardware and performance analysis, algorithm development, control systems, signal processing, test and integration, etc.You will join a dynamic system engineering team on a new high-profile program developing the next generation of airborne advanced Electro-Optical systems including imagers, passive/active EO tracking, LIDAR, and directed energy systems. You will work with mode development, design, performance analysis, modeling & simulation. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with good problem solving skills and also have demonstrated capability in design, integration and test of complex engineering systems.** This requisition is for future work, contingent on contract award estimated for Fall 2021. If you meet the requirements you will be contacted by the Recruiter Job Location is El Segundo, CA or McKinney, TX **Key responsibilities include:Computer modeling and simulation of the passive/active signal chain, including: sensor physics, optics, phenomenology, and radiometry (primarily in MATLAB)Development of signal processing, control systems, detection and tracking algorithms for embedded systemsPerformance analysis of EO/IR and LIDAR systemsSubsystem requirement allocation and decompositionAuto-code generation from MATLAB to other software languages such as C/C++Algorithm implementation and verification on hardwareAssisting with preparation of technical presentationsRequirements:Minimum 2 years of related systems engineering and/or integration and test experience including some background with optical signal processing or EO systems design / build / test / verification.Understanding of algorithm functionality, and its derivation from physics and mathematics; scientific and numerical computing in MATALB; some C/C++ programming and MATLAB/Simulink code generation (Coder) toolboxes.Some experience with system performance analysis, and simulation and modeling of EO systems; knowledge of image & signal processing theory and practice.Knowledge of and experience with system operation for EO systems.Technical writing, oral communication / presentation experience.Willingness to travel periodically in support of offsite testing and customer meetings.An active and in-scope DOD Secret US security clearance is required.Desired Requirements:Demonstrated interest in rapid learning of new technical skills and knowledge domainsExperience in the area of optical sensors, signal processing, tracking, detection, calibration, and radiometric modelingKnowledge in estimation theory and numerical methods along with some practical experience in these areasEO/IR and Laser domain knowledgeTechnical experience in opto-mechanical engineering, control systems, embedded computing, data science, or electronicsFamiliarity with software development in C, C++, and PythonRequired Education:Bachelor’s Degree in a related STEM discipline, such as ME, EE, AE, Math, Physics, Optics, or related technical field186638Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
