Job Description:Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) currently has an opening for a Section Manager in the R-NAV programs.
The Section Manager will perform functional management tasks and be actively engaged in the technical and/or programmatic aspects of numerous programs.
Section Manager are responsible for providing engineering leadership to ensure that cost, schedule and technical performance comply with program needs and the RIS processes.
Engineering leadership tasks include but not are not limited to such activities as ensuring adequate resources (personnel and assets) are dedicated to programs, providing technical guidance, developing career paths, facilitating alignment with engineering command media, leading productivity improvement and risk mitigation initiatives, perform other functional duties in support of the normal operations and providing cost estimates for proposal activities including basis of estimates.
This could be a dual role position where the ideal candidate may also serve as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL).R-NAV programs provide affordable Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) solutions by leveraging our existing products and technologies, focusing, research and developments, and expanding our strategic customer and supplier partnerships.
GNS Programs also support all elements of military Global Positioning System (GPS) technology including aircraft GPS navigation, weapon GPS/Inertial Navigation System (INS) guidance and advanced technology programs.
GNS Programs support a variety of applications such as amphibious assault vehicles, aviation, maritime, munitions and handheld devices.The candidate must be a self-starter, have the ability to work independently, and the ability to manage personal workloads to meet assigned deadlines.
The candidate should have experience successfully working in a collaborative environment.
The candidate will be involved with the planning, conduct, and coordination of software design, software architecture, development, test, and documentation including support of proposal activities.Required Skills:C/C++ Programming, embedded software development experienceExperience using and reporting EVMS10+years of experience in software development or equivalent experienceTechnical leadership experience to a small team of engineersExperience providing career development for team membersExperience contributing technical work products throughout the entire software life cycleExperience evaluating performance of section members and ensure completion of required and suggested trainingExperience working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environmentExperience developing software in an Agile environmentExperience developing proposal and ROMAbility to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance RequiredDesired Skills:Earned Value certifiedPrevious functional management experienceExperience working with GPS programsExperience in an Agile scrum master or product owner roleExperience across the full development lifecycleRequired Education (including Major):Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering and/or related STEM degree from accredited UniversityU.S.
