RTX: Senior Systems Engineer Ii


This is a Full-time position in Los Angeles, CA posted November 15, 2020.

Raytheon Intelligence and Space is the guiding provider of radar sensor systems.

We provide war fighters the most accurate and timely information available for the network-centric battlefield.

This position is specifically for a to provide engineering direction to the systems, software, integration & test, and technology transition teams as part of the Advanced RF department.The highly qualified candidate should possess career experience in technology development and demonstrate technical knowledge in radar algorithm/mode techniques.

The position will guide the technical performance of all Systems Engineering activities and will assume the responsibility of all engineering decisions impacting system development, integration, verification, and work products delivery while ensuring the product meets all technical specifications, operational requirements and customer expectations.Effective candidates should expect to be immersed in a passionate, team-based, and challenging technical environment where a team member with experience and initiative can stand out and thrive.Responsibilities include:?

Creation of all SE work products and associated analyses that document the system design?

Creation of work products that include performance specifications, interface control documents, associated trade studies and analyses, use cases/functional descriptions, measures of effectiveness, and technical performance measures?

Ensuring systems engineering (SE) technical integrity?

Generation of SE and technical CDRLs?

Provide technical direction to the teams and support the professional development of team members and ensure senior technical personnel ” Pass on” knowledge to more junior personnel?

Development of mathematical algorithms for radar signal processing?

Performance predictions and analysis of data received from radars on various platforms?

Perform technical and programmatic presentations to both internal and external customers?

Technical team direction participating in technical peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, and flight test activities?

Participate in design reviews, gate reviews, trade studies and other program/customer reviews as desired to keep the team on track?

Provide day to day direction for all engineering teams in the development and implementation of the team?s scope of work?

Support new/follow-on business proposals and ROMs as desired by the program?

Provide development feedback and information back to functional organizations?

Interface with the CE, IPTLs, team members, and other functions on a regular basisRequired Skills:?

Domain Knowledge?

Minimum of 6 years of Systems Engineering (or equivalent) experience?

Demonstrated understanding of airborne radar systems and their principals of design, development, requirements, I& T, Operation, and FlightTest?

Excellent mathematical problem solving ability and data analysis experience?

Ability to work self guided, determine and develop approaches to solutions?

Leadership skills to develop proposals for Government customers?

Experience in preparing and delivering briefings to administration and customers?

Evidence of problem solving and time organization skills?

Communication, integrity, judgment, coordination, impact?

Regularly engages, guides change to achieve implementation excellence and solve critical issues?

Examples of developing a technical team in advanced radar development efforts?

Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with all levels of the organization?

Existing DoD Secret clearance?

US Citizenship?

Ability to access to US only data systemsDesired Skills?

Domain Knowledge?

SW Modes and collection methodology and corresponding artifacts and phenomenology influencing Radar products.?

Analysis which predicts overall system performance, error margins and performance?

Proposal development and authoring technical volumes?

Work experience with one of the following areas related to radar systems: search or track, surveillance, reconnaissance, electronic protection, ID, or adaptive techniques?

Customer focus and collaboration skills?

Strong desire to learn, take initiative and contribute in a team-oriented environment?


Technical mentoring as subject matter expert in Radar Systems?

BS in Engineering, Sciences, or Mathematics or similar STEM disciplineDesired Education?
