Job Summary: Here at Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD), we specialize in air and missile defense, large-land, and sea-based radars and systems for managing command, control, and communication.

Our Software Products Engineering (SPE) team consists of over 2200 software engineers with a central focus on real-time software development, integration, testing, and validation activities for RMDs core capabilities.

Mission Areas within the RMD business include Advance Technology, Land Warfare and Air Defense, Naval Power, Air Power, and Strategic Missile Defense.

Our Software Products Engineering teams work on a variety of programs that cover many of the RMD business programs.

The teams work in many software development languages such as C++, C, C#, Java, Ada, and Python.

Some of the areas of Software Engineering that we work on are Application Software Development, Real-time Multi-threaded Embedded Software Development, Modeling and Simulation Software Development, Data Analysis, Linux kernel Development, Information Assurance/Cyber, Software Trainers, Software Tools Development, and Tactical Display Software, just to name a few.

Responsibilities to Anticipate: * Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time embedded software, application software, and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems * Design, code, test, integrate and document software solutions * Participate in internal review of software components and systems * Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering * Work on problems with defined scope, schedule and expectations * Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products Qualifications You Must Have: * Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) * Experience with C, C++, or Java * Must be either graduating during the current academic year or degree must have been granted in the last 18 months * The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.

Qualifications We Value: * Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering * College coursework covering modern software languages (such as C, C++, or Java) * 1 year or more of calculus, physics and computer science studies that include assembly level programming * Knowledge of data structures and algorithms * Knowledge of systems software design, operating systems and architectures * Prior internship experience * ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
