About the Role:
H Code Media is looking for a Python Developer with experience working in the django framework to build and maintain internal web solutions, platform reports, and data ingestion on our proprietary reporting system. The role will report directly to the SVP of Data Science and Technology.
The position is a great opportunity to build new products and be involved in shaping the Company’s strategy. Given the small size of our current development team, this role will have the opportunity to be deeply involved in projects across the platform, including ad campaign optimization tools, business intelligence tools, and much more.
The position requires the candidate to have a firm understanding of overall web technologies. Our philosophy of a collaborative work environment requires that the candidate have great interpersonal skills.
Due to Covid we continue to work remotely until further notice. We do prefer that candidates be West Coast based with the ability to travel to the Santa Monica office in 2022 when requested.
What you’ll do:
- Implement web solutions on our internal and external facing web servers
- Daily sanity check of ingested external data into our system
- Iterate through existing UI, implementing additional AJAX solutions where appropriate
- Design and refine UX research methods, process, and workflow
- Work closely with other H Code business units to design and implement online solutions to meet their daily needs
- Design and deliver wireframes, mock, and prototypes based on user research and best practices
- Refactoring existing solutions for better performance
- Database query optimization
- Present technical information in a clear and concise manner

What you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- At least 3+ years of Python/MySQL/Redshift development experience
- Django web framework development experience is a PLUS
- At least 3+ years development experience with browser rendering technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
- Proficient with Amazon Web Services
- Experience developing and maintaining software in a team setting
- Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
- Ad Tech experience is a plus
