Travel to customer locations with field deployments lasting for multiple weeks at a time.n n Primary Dutiesn n Read and interpret complex system drawings including T1/E1/DS3/E3/IP plans, channel plans, and network management interface block and levels.nConfigure, program, test, and debug smart channel banks, digital access cross-connect equipment, IP networking and OEM equipment management systems.nPerform end-end network integration and provide over-the-shoulder training to customer on newly installed system.nInstall, test, and troubleshoot variety of Aviat Networks and OEM equipment including radios, multiplexers, IP Routing, network management systems, rectifiers, and battery plants.
Also install cable trays, signal and power wiring, generators, and waveguide pressurization equipment.nTest and troubleshoot complex integrated linear and ring systems, using state-of-the-art test equipment, network management, Diagnostics software, and orderwire systems.nPrimary focus of this position will be IP based radio and networking systems installation and commissioning.
Working knowledge of Cisco, Xtreme Networks, Fujitsu, Xycel, ProVision and Eclipse highly desired.
Experience with testing Ethernet BER, PER, RFC 2544 (throughput, Latency, frame loss and back to back) using industry standard test equipment from JDSU, Agilent and the like.nDaily progress reports submitted, timely expense reports submitted and strict project budget adherence.nJob Requirementsn nWill require travel to customer sites which may include multiple modes of transportation to include but not limited to Aircraft, Boat, Helicopter, Snow-cat or Snowmobile.n nWorking/traveling environments may include extreme temperature and weather condition variations.n nAbility to obtain security clearances is required.n nAbility to lift and carry heavy equipment is required.n nAbility to work while standing or on a ladder for long periods of time is required.n nHold a valid State driver’s license.n nMust have normal color vision.n nSUPERVISIONn nOperate under direction of field installation coordinators and TAC with minimal direct supervision.n n Minimum Qualificationsn n Education and/or Experience Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in computer science.n nComputer proveniences including E-mail, Excel and Word.n nCisco CCNA certification, highly preferred.n nYears of Related Experience At least seven (7+) years of Network Integration and/or Microwave system Integrationn nStrong service orientationn nExcellent communication & organizational skillsn nAdvanced problem analysis and problem-solving skillsn nCalm & confident disposition with a professional approach in communicating with all customersn nInterested in hearing more?
