New Relic’s Growth Engineering group is looking for an experienced manager to lead a recently formed engineering team that are passionate about engaging our end users to help them get more value from New Relic.

The most successful manager for this team will act with drive and intensity, yet always take the time to listen and to do the right thing!

They will constantly seek new ways to explain, mentor, guide, and bring out the best in others.
Opportunity to work from a remote office in the US may be available depending on applicant location.
What You’ll Do
* Recruit and develop engineering talent for a high-productivity and distributed full-stack team
* Build tools and processes to help our customers get maximum value from our products
* Work closely with UX designers and researchers to ensure our users have memorable experiences
* Work alongside Product and Support organizations to make feature ideas magically turn into drama-free releases
* Validate architecture, technical plans, and roadmap for the team
Your Qualifications
Must-have:
* 5+ years of professional software development experience in either Java, C++, or Javascript
* 2+ years of experience managing self-directed remote teams in a fast-pasted environment
* Experience in the experimentation strategies and lean delivery
* Capable of investigating and understanding the technical implications and risks of a decision
* Experience handling on-call rotations, DevOps practices, and 24/7 operations
Nice-to-have:
* Experience with AWS infrastructure
* Knowledge of Commerce, Product, and Go-To-Market functions
* BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
