Java Developer (Remote) pay rate $43-$46 per hour The position location is remote.
OVERVIEW All technical team members are required to have technical expertise in modern software development tools, cloud operations, and the VA DevSecOps Tool Suite, as well as VA Toolsets currently in use.
Responsibilities: The Java Developer will serve as a member of a Scrum Team tasked with producing and implementing modifications and enhancements to the Claims Processing System.
The individual selected should demonstrate up-to-date technical expertise in full stack Java development and apply that expertise using the full suite of modern software development tools employed by VA (GitHub, Jira, Rally, etc.).
The individual will function as part of an integrated team sharing products, best practices, and information across the portfolio.
Other responsibilities will include: Work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Adhere to standard operating procedures for program activities and identify process improvements.
Perform a variety of testing throughout the development lifecycle including but not limited to unit testing, regression testing, and integration testing.
Manage version control to source code streams and components in the CM Tool (GitHub).
Position Requirements: Bachelors Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or other engineering or technical discipline, plus five (5) or more years of related hands-on experience.
An additional eight (8) years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
Ability to create software in a variety of programming languages and/or for a variety of applications a plus.
Deep working knowledge of and experience with Agile software development Must be able to obtain and maintain agency clearance based on a successful background check.
