Description: Seeking a skilled computer systems engineer to provide the business knowledge and technical expertise to build an ITSM infrastructure of products and tools from the ground up.
Build, deploy, manage, and maintain new and existing virtual infrastructure systems and work as the point person for ITSM related technical issues and challenges for a high reliability, real time, mission critical application.
The networks and systems being worked on support mission operations and flight control of in-orbit weather satellites so they are high throughput and high availability systems.
Monitor and analyze data center infrastructure resources and system applications Monitor health, availability and performance of managed nodes and devices Perform day-to-day processes and activities to manage and maintain availability, health and performance of the ITSM tools at acceptable Service Levels Capture and document user requirements Configure and instrument tool capabilities according to user needs and requirements Create customized ITSM solutions as needed and directed by the technical lead Produce specialized reports as needed and requested by the customer Creating /updating supporting documentation for enhancements, and all other administrative tasks Provide knowledge transfer and exchange to other ITSM team members Leverage automation (e.g., tools, programs or scripts) and standards as part of the daily administration of the ITSM tools Skills: Vmware, Linux, unix, Shell Scripting, Scripting, Virtualization, Systems Administration, itil, network operations, red hat linux, RHEL, Nutanix, atlassian suite, Jira, Confluence, Systems engineering, Cloud, Python, Perl, TCP/IP Top Skills Details: Vmware,Linux,unix,Shell Scripting,Scripting,Virtualization,Systems Administration,itil,network operations,red hat linux,RHEL,Nutanix,atlassian suite,Jira,Confluence Additional Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science At least 5-7 years total related experience Heavy experience and focus in VMWare and virtualization.
Creating new virtual infrastructure and instances.
5 – 8 years of experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) process modules and administering ITSM ticketing tools/Service Desk applications and familiarity with tool operation & maintenance, and application administration Experience deploying new virtual infrastructures and architectures, installing, and configuring as well as providing daily administrative tasks and maintenance of one or more of the ITSM Tools and framework listed below: ITIL v4 (Service, Operation, Asset Management; DevOps; Security Ops) Jira Service Management
