IT Software Asset Analyst

Cognizant is seeking a strong IT Software Asset Analyst for an immediate need. This is a client-facing role & the candidate will have regular interactions with various client managers. Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions Experience / Education: 4 – 6 years of relevant experience/ area of expertise BA/BS Degree or equivalent combination of training and experience Basic Function: The IT Asset Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day operational management and execution of the Software Asset Management Processes. The Asset Analyst is responsible for managing Asset Management processes and supporting operations associated with the IT Asset Repository. This is an enterprise role spanning ALL IT Assets in the inventory and is expected to be a delegate for the IT Asset Manager. This role will track and optimize software, hardware and other IT commodity purchases, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and disposal of software and hardware to reduce IT costs and limit business and legal risks related to the ownership and use of software and hardware, while maximizing IT responsiveness and Colleague productivity. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Conducts reviews and reports on Software asset reconciliation and requested audit activities on a timely basis, including financial, licensing, warranty, and maintenance/support contract information. Maintain annual license renewals and certifications. Validate, and reconcile software and/or hardware licenses against the installed asset base. Maintains precise documentation and accurate usage of the asset tracking system ensuring internal processes, procedures, tools and infrastructure are documented, maintained with accuracy, and adhered to in day to day operations and according to regulatory requirements. Works with Stewards and process managers to ensure an integrated approach to the design, implementation, and coordination of interfaces between Hardware and Software Asset Management processes and other service management processes. (Change, Release, Incident, and QA/Reconciliation, Enterprise Procurement, Technology Lifecycle Management etc.). Implements and enforces the IT Asset Management processes, policies and standards, work instructions and activities in compliance within the established IT controls framework. Identify which CIs need to be managed and controlled from the basis of Asset, Configuration Management, and Inventory. Define the CI types and level of detail at which CIs are to be identified. Explore opportunities for maximizing or exploiting unused or partially used IT assets to achieve full financial and usage efficiency of IT Assets in the Client environment Responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the IT Product Catalog items to keep Catalog current with IT assets approved for us at Client Represent IT Asset Manager at Software Review Council All other appropriate duties as required. Required Work Experience Minimum 5 years of IT experience Minimum 3 years in a IT Asset Management -focused role Skills, Knowledge, and Licenses Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office, Project, and SharePoint Minimum 2 years of experience with ServiceNow Asset Management Required Education Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience ***Cognizant is recognized as a Military Friendly Employer and is a coalition member of the Veteran Jobs Mission.
