About the team :

Our team is made up of 10 engineers (4 senior, 2 mid and 4 junior) , with a diverse range of backgrounds and experience levels. We are enthusiastic about keeping up to date with the latest iOS APIs and technologies, and are continuously looking for ways to bring them into our mobile apps. We encourage differing technical viewpoints to drive us toward delivering the best customer experience possible. One recent project we’re proud of is releasing the Honey mobile app s into regions beyond just the U.S ., allowing us to offer a custom – tailored experience to each new corner of the world that we support.

We strive to improve and automate as many of our processes as possible and are dedicated toward making our team’s developer experience a great one. About the Role:

We are looking for an iOS Engineer to help shape and scale our growing portfolio of products. This person will focus on both the Honey iOS app and building SDKs that are used in PayPal and Venmo apps. You can expect to work with other iOS engineers, backend services teams, product managers, designers, and QA on a daily basis, as well as daily co llaboration with the other client teams (Android, Web, Extension). Your contribution will impact how Honey provides a better way to buy and make money fairer for everyone.

As a n iOS Engineer at Honey, you will:

  • Work closely with a product manager on product requirements and translating those requirements to technical solutions as part of new feature development
  • Work on both UI and platform frameworks like networking , cachin g, and proprietary savings and coupon application components
  • Be a champion of best mobile development practices to maintain and enhance the codebase and fix bugs
  • Extract portions of Honey’s app into libraries and SDKs for PayPal’s shopping app
  • Evaluate new technologies (e.g. SwiftUI ) and methodologies with an emphasis on qualit y and performance
  • Architect, write, review, and test code in a collaborative environment with other software engineers
  • Leverage your peers as multipliers for your skills, and utilize your deep knowledge of the iOS ecosystem to level up the other engineers on your team
  • Support the operational excellence of our mobile products by performing regular on-call responsibilities, such as monitoring app health metrics, reporting them to the team, and being ready and able to help with incident response

About You :

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using common design patterns in the development of mobile applications, such as MVC and MVVM
  • Can demonstrate a high proficiency iniOS development using Swift or Objective-C
  • Can demonstrate a high proficiency inbuilding iOS user interfaces usingCocoa Touch, Storyboards, SwiftUI , or programmatic views with AutoLayout
  • Can demonstrate a high proficiency inusing iOS APIs to handleoffline storage, threading, and caching
  • Can demonstrate a high proficiency ininterfacing withREST APIs from an iOS app
  • Capable of using written and verbal communication to understand and explain technical issues to a non-technical audience
  • Minimum of building and delive ring one or more apps to the Apple App Store

Nice-to-Have Qualifications :

  • Experience developing, maintaining and innovating large scale, consumer-facing mobile applications
  • Experience working on MacOS and Safari App extensions
  • Experience with Android
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Knowledge of Apple’s low-level C-based libraries
  • Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data and Core Animation
  • Experience building components with SwiftUI
