Experience Vision System Software and Systems Engineer – El Segundo, CA

This position will support the Phantom Works Space Advanced Missions team across multiple programs in developing and implementing rendezvous and proximity operations capabilities. In particular this position will focus on software related to the image processing and interfacing to other key subsystems like guidance and relative navigation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops code and integrates complex software components into a fully functional software system.

  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

  • Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.

  • Works under minimal direction.

This position requires the ability to obtain an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with a Single Scope Investigation SCI/SSBI eligibility. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active). 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or related technical filed

  • 3+ years’ software development full-life cycle experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation SCI/SSBI eligibility.

  • Experience with software architecture definition, software development, sensors and modeling of sensors, and hardware testing

  • Experience leading projects or project teams through the software life-cycle.

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
