The Boeing Space & Launch organization is currently seeking an Experienced Systems Engineering Control Account Management Specialist (Level 3), also referred internally as a Cost Account Manager, to join its Proprietary Programs Software Development team in Seal Beach, CA as primary location, with a secondary location as El Segundo, CA.

In this individual contributor position (non-management), you will work closely with several systems engineering teams and a Senior CAM to coordinate, manage, and ensure costs to ensure Contract/Team activities are allocated according to the program requirements and needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist CAMs in Quantifiable Backup Data generation (QBD) for incremental performance status

  • Work with Systems Engineering Leadership and technical staff to establish and maintain integrated baseline for scope, schedule and budget

  • Assess and status work performed, and perform variance analysis as required, to understand performance

  • Develop and ensure implementation of corrective action plan to support execution on cost and schedule

  • Generate and manage Estimate-at-Complete (EAC)

  • Validate costs charged to the control account

  • Ability to close on tasks in a timely manner in order to support monthly reporting

  • Work with project managers to manage, control and facilitate allocation of resources to support several software development teams

  • Set up Earned Value performance based on baseline durations

  • Report program cost and schedule performance data

  • Relate time-phased budgets to the corresponding scope of work

  • Objectively measure work progress

  • Reflect achievement of program objectives within budget, on schedule, and within technical performance parameters

  • Supplies managers at all levels with appropriate program status information

  • Enables timely and reliable Estimate at Completion (EAC)

  • Support proposal efforts and generation of BOEs

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 3+ years of proven experience in systems engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Project management experience

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary Pay Range: $104,550 – $141,450

To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
