Job summary: Development, revision, and maintenance of submarine combat systems (acoustic, combat control, electronic warfare, and imaging) Engineering Change Instructions (ECI) Development, revision, and maintenance of ECI documentation for submarine combat systems (acoustic, combat control, electronic warfare, and imaging) Prepare, deliver and submit Engineering Change Instructions (ECI), Naval messages, technical papers and engineering studies/recommendations Plan, schedule, track, and report messages and ECI development products and services Provide a weekly/monthly message and ECI development status report input for relevant task orders in a timely manner Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, technical, logistics, and program management disciplines to define the requirements for the ECI Interpret and analyze engineering change proposals (ECPs), ship alterations (SHIPALTs), technical documentation, and system/subsystem specifications in order to develop ECIs Perform direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels at design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with the ECI requirements May conduct site visits and investigations and provide recommendations to support proposed solutions and alternatives for ECI implementation Verify and validate ECIs, engineering documentation standards, and test procedures Establish and/or maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking ECI and Naval message project status May train other engineers on technical issues related to the development, revision, and maintenance of ECIs Responsible for completing assigned ECIs and Naval messages, action items, and input to data calls relating to ECIs and messages in a timely manner Must have extensive experience in developing, tracking, updating and sending Naval messages Minimum Requirements Vocational/Technical school/Associates degree and at least 8 years of job-related experience, or equivalent Excellent communication and analytical skills Expert knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite Technical training in Electronics, Computers, or Networking, or successful completion of U.S.
