What you will be doing:

The Senior Database Analyst leads the analysis and design process for database applications and reports.

Serves as a main liaison between users and EIS.

Can translate user requests and processes into detailed functional and technical specifications and project plans.

Works in conjunction with business analysts, application developers, and engineers on very sophisticated projects.

Responsibilities include development of guidelines and formats, policies, procedures, and documentation.

Reviews and modifies database analysts’ specifications and other documents.

Creates and maintains metadata and BI presentation Layer.

Works with users to gather and document requirements for data mart; this includes interviewing users to data requirements.

Facilitates translation of user’s requests into specifications.

Coordinate project-specific documentation including technical specifications, program documentation, test plans, metadata, and process flow and business process diagrams.

Validates, reviews, and edits all documentation before it is released to users; including documentation compiled by other database analysts.

Work closely with data warehouse architect, data modeler and business intelligence analyst in developing solutions.

Experience Requirements:
8+ years’ experience with business analysis or data warehouse solutions.

Demonstrated experience in functional specifications, technical specifications, report design, documentation, systems analysis, user relations, and vendor interactions.

Hands-on experience with patient care-oriented databases and hospital-based financial and administrative database applications is preferred.

Requires extensive knowledge of standard information technology practices related to business application development and implementation.

Demonstrated expertise in data modeling concepts, including multi-dimensional structures.

Demonstrated expertise in SQL.

Proficiency in mainstream personal computer-based database development, office automation, project management, and communications tools.

Skill in using various data modeling tools.

Demonstrated understanding of healthcare applications and terminology, patient care environments, and needs and priorities of patient care personnel is preferred.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
