We are conducting a search for a client position for an experienced *Progress/ABL/Progress 4GL Software Developer*.
The client is an established building material supplier, with multiple warehouse and store locations on the West and East coast.
This IT professional must wear multiple hats as a Software Developer in this multi-state company.
The role requires an open, curious mind, and willingness to learn new skills and grow.
The job primarily will involve developing and maintaining tools, to extend the capabilities of their existing ERP systems (Infor SXE & Custom ERP System), andassisting with a planned migration from on-premises to cloud-based environment.The preferred location would be* in Los Angeles, Vernon (HQ)* but this position may also be filled at any of the client’s west coast branches in Kent, WA; Spokane, WA; Portland, OR; Hayward, CA; Sacramento, CA; Los Angeles Area, CA (Vernon, Anaheim or Santa Fe Springs); or San Diego, CA.*Requirements** *Extensive experience with OpenEdge/Progress database development using ABL and SQL.** Experience with routine *database maintenance on OpenEdge/Progress, MySQL, and MS SQL* Server* Provide customized reporting solutions to the user base or one-off updates* Experience with XML BOD’s and associated API calls (InforOS/ION)* Extend/enhance existing ERP through system extensions or new code (in JavaScript).* A plus is if candidates also have experience in developing VB.Net/C# code with WinForms.* A plus is if candidates also have experience in developing C code in Unix/Linux environments.* A plus is experiences in system migration to Azure or AWS.*QUALIFICATIONS: ** *Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred** *5+ years of related experience (since BA)** *Experience Progress ABL code, MySQL/MS SQL Server** Experience with Git to manage projects* Experience working with Async API calls* Basic Understanding of networking protocols Benefits* Preferred experience: *Azure*; AWS, *Linux*Occasional travel to branch locations will be expected.*Benefits*The client company provides comprehensive benefits, including bonuses, 401(k), PTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD, FSA, and EAP.ABL, OpenEdge/Progress, SQL, VB and C# .Net Framework, WinForms, JavaScript, MySQL, Windows System Administration, Linux, REST, Exposure to AzureJob Type: Full-time
