The ideal candidate will be passionate about using technology to continually improve business operations while also increasing the value delivered to customers.What you’ll be doing:Understanding the customer use cases for College Recruiter products and ensuring the technical vision for your teams supports the best possible customer experience.Collaborating with Product Management on product roadmaps, technical direction, and ensuring that the short-term delivery plans align with the long-term vision.Working with business counterparts to ensure development plans are in place, being tracked and reported effectively and are working on managing risks and removing obstacles.Finding improvements to your teams’ ways of working to boost efficiency and software quality.Talking with your senior engineers to identify opportunities for improving the product architecture and designs.Work with other cross functional managers/directors to identify opportunities for working more effectively.Collaborating with business stakeholders on strategic planning.Build and lead an outstanding software development team to innovate, invent and build software solutions that are loved by our customers.Link technology vision and strategy with overall business objectives and communicate the plans in a compelling, concise manner.Develop and grow talent through effective mentoring, coaching and retention strategies.Work across the company to gain insight into potential roadblocks and risks and collaborate to mitigate negative impacts to committed plans.Understand the trends in software development architectures, languages, and environments to be able to leverage these where beneficial.Define ambitious, measurable goals and objectives for your teams and track progress and impact when they are achieved.Celebrate successes and contribute to a positive, collaborative culture.How you’ll grow:In the first month you will:Get to know your team and the exciting project work that is underway.Learn College Recruiter’s business and how the technology fits everything togetherBe involved in business and technology planning meetings for upcoming initiativesWithin three months you will:Direct and oversee high impact projectsDrive architecture decisions and establish a future technology roadmapProvide coaching and mentoring as neededWithin six months you will:You will have demonstrated that you are the #1 technology thought leader in the company through ensuring the correct use of technology, successful software implementations, and delighted customers.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, STEM, IT or related discipline or equivalent experience10 years of total experience leading software development projects and teams with 3 years in a similar roleExperience in budgeting, project structuring, vendor and partner management, staff structuring, and negotiations.Strong situational analysis, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences.Experience managing remote teamsExperience mentoring and developing managers and senior technical staffAbility to work effectively and manage partnerships with all areas and members of the business as well as all levels of the organization.Demonstrated ability to drive change and successfully implement processes at scaleSystems thinker with a process-oriented mindset and superior critical thinking skillsProven ability to productively work-from-home.Benefits:Salary Range: $140,000 $150,000 USDWe value our employees’ time and efforts.
