Database Manager

What you’ll do…This position is open to hybrid/in-office work at our headquarters in Kansas City or 100% remote work for candidates outside of this location.The Senior Marketing Manager Email is responsible for the development and execution of a variety of direct marketing campaigns, across retention and acquisition, that target and influence customer journeys including promotional, engagement and service/transactional contacts. The individual in this role needs a strong understanding of current and emerging strategies within email and other CRM direct response channels. They will lead a team of email channel strategists and build/execute a portfolio of consumer-centric strategies with a focus on test and learn with the goal of driving incremental performance. This role will work closely with various cross-functional teams and/or vendors to execute, track and optimize campaigns. Requires strong leadership, collaboration, communication and project management skills.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCreate new or further develop existing contact strategies to improve client engagement and increase client retention, recapture of lapsed and acquisition of new clients across relevant business lines.Oversee campaigns end-to-end, including planning, journey building, creative development, production setup, testing, flawless execution, reporting and optimization.Lead the campaign planning process grounded in addressing the consumer need and aimed at achieving 1:1 personalization.Develop learning agendas and test strategies to optimize channel performance and support expansion of direct response capabilities with ability to scale.Oversee the review and approval of campaign creative messaging, proper segmentation, final QA and provide approval for deployment.Effectively work with cross-functional partners including brand, product, legal, IT and database marketers on development of campaign strategy, offer/promotions, business case creation/approval, brief development and client targeting. Build a positive, proactive environment based on high volume of executions and excellent communication with team members and external resources.Develop and adhere to campaign timelines.Proactively address and resolve issues, campaign timing conflicts and communicate decisions to key stakeholders.Actively monitor and interpret data/reporting and use analysis to apply changes that increase effectiveness of direct marketing campaigns.Ensure all campaigns comply with best-in-class channel practices, strategies and industry standards while championing continuous advancement.Adhere to relevant domestic legislation which governs the commercial email space (i.E. CAN-SPAM, GDPR).Monitor deliverability and automated data cleansing to maintain healthy database.Lead ad hoc projects and initiatives that bring about change or improve the business.It would be even better if you also had…Technical experience with Salesforce Marketing CloudFamiliarity with franchised, multi-unit retail, financial services and/or seasonal business.What you’ll bring to the team…EducationBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. MBA or other relevant master’s degree preferred.Experience5+ years of CRM or email marketing, including strategic planning and direct involvement with technical execution platforms.Highly effective people-leader and collaborative colleague in a fast-paced working environment.Proficient understanding of the principles of database marketing, including segmentation, modeling, test designs and measurement.Strategic thinker with a proven ability to translate strategy into executable tactics, inclusive of strategy and brief development.Proactive problem solver, who can make the right decisions quickly-either independently or as part of team-and drive issues to resolution.Demonstrated knowledge of marketing principles, practices, and techniques, including knowledge of direct response and lifecycle marketing.Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills.
